Marcia Mettler, age 70, of Menno, SD, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Freeman Regional Health Services in Freeman, SD.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13 at the Peace Christian Reformed Church, Menno, SD with Rev. Steve Moerman officiating. Burial will be in the Menno Cemetery.
Visitations will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 12 at the Peace Christian Reformed Church, Menno, SD with a Prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Aisenbrey-Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel, Menno, SD is assisting with the arrangements. Online condolences may be sent at www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com.
Pallbearers will be Terry Auch, Clifford Roemmick, Travis Bowar, Doug Schafer, Earl Mettler and Brian Wenisch. Honorary Pallbearers are Brooklyn Mettler and Jaxen Mettler.
Marcia Ann (Bowar) Mettler was born October 1, 1946 to Norbert and Angeline (Weber) Bowar at Parkston, SD. She graduated from Parkston High School and then Nettleton College in Sioux Falls. After graduating from school and working at Mitchell National Bank, she was united in marriage to Ron Mettler on February 22, 1968 at Parkston, SD. They moved to Menno and eventually to the family farm 3 and ¾ miles north of Menno. Marcia worked at Rural Medical Clinics for 24 years before retiring. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events, playing cards, going to ball games and socializing with her friends and family. Her pride and joy was her children and grandchildren, which she loved dearly.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband, Ron; her sons, Kevin Mettler of Sioux Falls, SD and Brian (Teresa) Mettler of Menno, SD; grandchildren, Brooklyn and Jaxen Mettler of Menno, SD; brother, Dennis (Dorothy) Bowar of Parkston, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents and her infant son, Brett Mettler.
