Earl Albert Sailer, 89, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, passed away peacefully on, Monday December 30, 2013. He is finally with his wife Nancy in heaven.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday at Sacred Heart Church, 711 Prospect Ave. Nekoosa, WI with Father John Swing officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Earl was born on September 30, 1924 in Marathon City, WI. He was the son of the late Clara (Mertens) Sailer and Conrad Sailer. He married the late Nancy (Hamm) Sailer on June 10, 1950 in Owen, WI. She died November 24, 2004. He lived most of his life in Wisconsin Rapids.
He worked as an over the road truck driver for CW Transport for 28 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Nekoosa, WI and the Knights of Columbus.
Earl is survived by his six children, Diane (Kenneth McCrossen),of Nekoosa, Dawn (David) Rominski of Lake Carroll, IL, Kevin (Linda) of Wisconsin Rapids, Beverly (David) Ghiloni of Wisconsin Rapids, Michael of Milwaukee WI, Eugene (Kathy) of Wisconsin Rapids. His nine Grandchildren, Jennifer Cornwell of Cottage Grove, WI, Dr. David (Margaret) Rominski of Hampshire, IL, Douglas (Karen) Rominski of Elgin, IL, Amie (MSG Rob) O'Connor of Sanford, NC, Ashley (Joe Anderson) Appleton, Zachary Ghiloni of Wisconsin Rapids, SSG Melanie Sailer of the US Army stationed in Kuwait, Tory of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Cali (Chris Steckbauer) of Wisconsin Rapids; nine great-grandchildren, Hayden Hauber of Cottage Grove, Arianna and Kolton Rominski of Hampshire Il, Dylan, Kalena and Diesel Rominski of Elgin, Il, Riley Skarda of Oconto and Kaleigh O'Connor of Sanford, NC and Naomie Anderson of Appleton, WI.
Earl is further survived by his five sisters, Marge Leuth of West Bend, WI, Florence Mueller of New Berlin, WI, Doris Harder of Oconomowoc, WI, Winifred Glasshof of Milwaukee, WI, Gail Stevens of Half Moon Bay, CA; two sisters-in-law Hildegarde "Pat" Henderson of Eau Claire, WI, Jean Hamm of Plymouth, WI; four brothers, Gordon (Enid) of West Bend, WI, Glen (Ada) of Evergreen, CO, James of Milwaukee, WI, Raymond (Nancy) of Pewaukee, WI; and many, many, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by, his parents, his wife Nancy, his son Allen James, his Great Grandson Chase Steckbauer, his brother Leon, his sisters Mildred "Mickey" Schneider and Ruth Hughes, his sister-in-law Frankie Sailer; his brothers-in-law, Leonard "Buzz" Hamm, Clyde Schneider, Milton Mueller, Gilbert Harder, Raymond Henderson and Millard Glasshof.
Earl loved his family, fishing, hunting and family vacations up north.
