Bessie Lamboley Carroll passed away on August 12, 2013 at Elkhorn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Clancy, Mont. Bess was the youngest of eight children born on April 6, 1928, to Alfred and Margery Lamboley in Laurel, Mont.
Bess was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Carroll; her parents; her brother and six sisters; and her grandson, John Patrick Rouane III.
She is survived by her four daughters, Mary Lynne Arthun, Phoenix, Ariz., Gerri (John) Rouane, Montana City, Mont., Terri (Steve) Riemann, Peyton, Colo., and Jackie (Ron) Skaer, Phoenix; and her sister-in-law, Marieanne (Harold) Hanser, Billings. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bess lived at Highgate Assisted Living in Billings for seven years after the death of her husband, and we are grateful for the loving care she received from the aides at Highgate. Bess was an avid reader; she also loved to work on puzzles, crochet and watch "Jeopardy!" She loved to cook for her family. She treasured being a mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Bess was the last of the beautiful Lamboley girls. She graduated from high school at the age of 16, married Jack at the age of 17, and they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary before his death in 2006. Bess always said Jack was the love of her life. They are now together again.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Pius Catholic Church on Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Colorado-Wyoming Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 111 W. Second St., suite 103, Casper, WY 82601, in support of Bess' granddaughter, Michelle Hamm, who has been diagnosed with MS.
