DONALD R. JENNINGS, 73
Donald R. Jennings, 73, R.R.10, Greensburg, died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 1989 in the Veterans Home in Lafayette, Ind.
He was born Aug. 2, 1915 in Berry County, Mo., the son of Blythe W. and Lydia Graber Jennings. He was with the Farm Home Administration and also served as s county extension agent in Decatur County and in several other Indiana counties.
He was a member of the Greensburg First Baptist Church and very active with the church choir. He was a member of the Greensburg Kiwanis Club, the VFW and NARFE. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II and was stationed in the medical corps in Iran from 1942 to 1945. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri and also did work at Cornell University and Purdue University.
He married Mabel Fish May 4, 1946, in Bolivar, Mo., and she survives, with one daughter, Mrs. Roland (Donna) Shirk, Greensburg; one son, Charles E. Jennings, Lafayette, Ind.; three brothers, Harry Jennings, Dexter, Mo., Carl Jennings, Neosho, Mo. and Jack Jennings, of St. Peters, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Mary Elizabeth) Harty, Dexter, Mo. and five grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death.
The Rev. Dr. Lee C. Riggs, will conduct the services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Gilliland-Howe-Funeral Home, Greensburg.
Burial will be in South Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The VFW will perform graveside rites.
