  [S927] Obituary. Sept. 7, 1943 - March 10, 2005 GARRISON, N.D. - Melvin Martinsen, 61, Garrison, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at a Garrison hospital. Melvin was born Sept. 7, 1943 in Minot, to Fred and Ella (Schmidt) Martinsen. He was raised in the Sawyer, N.D., area and was baptized and confirmed at St. Johnâs Lutheran Church in Kongsberg, N.D. Melvin graduated from Sawyer High School in 1961. Melvin married Loretta Johnson on March 1, 1964, at First Lutheran Church in Ruso, N.D. They lived in Sawyer for several years before moving to Garrison. Melvin is survived by his wife, Loretta; daughters, Corrina Martinsen (LeRoy Goebel), Williston, N.D., and her children, Kelcie, Kyle, Karisa and Kaden; Sheila Brunner (Mark) and their children, Stephanie and Steven; his mother, Ella Martinsen, Benedict; brothers, Leland (Joyce) Martinsen, Burlington, N.D., Galen (Gayle) Martinsen, Velva, N.D.; sisters, Judy (Ray) Sloboden, Benedict, Andi (Eric) Klanderman, Fairfax, Va., Myrna (Ron) Undlin, Minot; father-in-law, Lloyd Johnson, Minot; brothers-in-law, Milfred (Diane) Johnson, Velva, Wayne (Tenley) Johnson, of Max, N.D., Glenn (Debby) Johnson, Wahpeton, N.D.; sisters-in-law, Marlene (DeLane) Kritsky, Pocatello, Idaho, Marlys (Larry) Sundbakken, Minot, Eleanor (LaVerne) Berg, Minot, Doreen (Tim) Schatz, Butte, N.D.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
