Bio: E. Irving Driesner, 89, Fessenden, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.E. Irving Driesner, son of Albert and Lena (Rappuhn) Driesner, was born January 29, 1928 at Harvey, ND. He grew up on the Driesner family farm southeast of Fessenden where he spent his early years helping on the farm. He graduated from the Oshkosh Elementary School and later the Fessenden High School in 1945. He then began farming with his dad. As a young man Irving did spend one winter working for Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle, WA.On November 1, 1968, Irving was married to Frieda Faul in Harvey. They made their home on the Driesner family farm. In 1982 they moved into Fessenden and continued to farm. Frieda passed away November 22, 1986.On July 19, 1987, Irving married Marilyn (Albrecht) York in Fessenden. He continued to farm until retiring in 1990. In 1995 they began spending their winter months in Mesa, AZ and summers in Fessenden. They loved traveling and visited 48 states and 25 countries. They also enjoyed cruises and went on 13 of them over the years.Irving loved life and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He always enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing pinochle. As a young boy he started collecting stamps and coins. In his later years he was an active member of the Specialist Club.Irving was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Fessenden where he was baptized in 1941. He held many church offices, including Secretary-Treasurer of the Sunday School program, Sunday School teacher, Trustee, Usher, Church Treasurer and Deacon. He also served as Treasurer of the Northern Dakota Baptist Association; Clerk, Treasurer and Supervisor of Oshkosh Township over a period of 51 years; and was a member of the Farmers Home Administration for one term.He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Marilyn; stepson, Todd (Dori) York of Lincoln, ND; stepdaughter, Lana Peercy of South Jordan, Utah; 5 grandchildren, Kellie (Dr. Mitch) Weigel of Duluth, MN, Brittany (Tylone) Jasper of Bismarck, Michael York of Denver, CO, Dr. Jordan York of Williston and Carly Peercy of South Jordan, UT; 5 great-grandchildren, Kylie Quandt of Bismarck, Miles, Carter & Penelope Weigel of Duluth, MN, and Greyson York of Denver, CO; and 1 nephew, Douglas (Sharlyn) Driesner of Carson City, NV. He also leaves behind a host of friends and relatives.Irving was preceded in death by his first wife, Frieda; his parents, Albert & Lena Driesner; and his brother, Allen. Nelson Funeral Home
