Douglas, age 84, died on Sunday, July 24, 2005 at the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater. Mr. Douglas was born and raised in Plainfield and had lived in South Plainfield before moving to Martinsville 41 years ago. He worked as a Sales Representative for Aaron Lippman Company which was located in Newark for 20 years before retiring in 1981. Mr. Douglas did a lot of volunteer work for SWIM which was located inside the YMCA in Bridgewater. He also enjoyed bowling and fresh water fishing. Mr. Douglas is survived by his wife, Edith Robbins Douglas; his son Alan Douglas of Bridgewater; one sister Joyce Groszman of NC and one grandson, Kyle Douglas. A Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, July 28th at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Memorial Union Church, 7 Valley Road, Watchung. Cremation was private.
