BAIR, Leone Leone "Lee" Baker Bair, 82, of Farmington and longtime New Hartford resident entered eternity on Monday, (May 15, 2006). She was the beloved wife of Homer F. Bair Jr. For 56 years. Born November 7, 1923 in Morrisville, VT; she was the daughter of the late Ray and Martha (Campbell) Baker. She graduated in 1941 from People's Academy in Morrisville, VT, where she played on the VT state champion girls' basketball team. She became a Dental Hygienist after graduating from Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene, Boston, MA in 1943. She practiced as a Hygienist in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and for many years she worked for Dr. John O'Meara in Torrington. She was an accomplished seamstress and a member of the Harwinton Quilting Club. For years, she served in the President of the Ladies Aid Society at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Hartford. She danced with the Farmington Valley Squares. A fan of basketball and baseball, she was devoted to the Boston Red Sox. She had lived for a number of years in Newton, MA, Penn Hills, PA and Sudbury, MA before moving to New Hartford where she lived from 1968 until 2004. In addition to her loving husband, Homer of Farmington, she leaves; a son, James F. Bair of Ansonia; two daughters, Marthan Harpin of Orono, ME and Marianne Ebling of Seymour; four grandchildren, Joanna and Emily Bair and Patrick and Mary Harpin; a sister, Leitha Boice of Catskill, NY and many friends and cousins. A memorial service followed by a coffee hour will be held on Thursday, May 18, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 30 Prospect Street, New Hartford at 1 p.m. With Pastor Timothy Yeadon officiating. Burial will be held on Friday, May 19, in Stowe, VT. There will be no calling hours. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Road, New Hartford has care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please send gifts in her memory to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
