Description: Married: Sacred Heart Church, Rochester, Monroe County, New York, USA
According to an article in the Sunday, 25 Jan 2015, Rochester, NY, Democrat And Chronicle, page 14a, ... St Patrick's was the cathedral from 1868, when Pope Pius IX created the Diocese of Rochester until 1937, when the cathedral was sold, with all the surrounding property, to Kodak, when it was demolished.
In that same year, Sacred Heart Church was designated "pro-cathedral" or temporary cathedral. Sacred Heart Church was no elevated to the status of cathedral until 1952.
When Oscar Trabold & Armella Metzger were married in on 19 May 1928, St Patrick's was still the Cathedral of the Diocese of Rochester.
NB: I will let stand those marriages that were at Sacred Heart between 1937 & 1952, as it was the 'de facto' Cathedral of the Diocese of Rochester.
