Pfau, Rose
Rose Pfau, 81, Mandan, died Aug. 3, 2004, in a Bismarck hospital surrounded by those who loved her. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Pat Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in the Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Catholic Daughters rosary will be held at 4 p.m., a KC rosary will be held at 7 p.m. and a parish vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Rose was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Odense, the daughter of Fred P. and Pauline (Hatzenbuhler) Reisenauer. She was raised and educated in Odense. She received her GED in 1975. She and her family moved to Mandan in 1940. She worked at Dahner's Department Store and Lewis and Clark Hotel, where she met Antone (Tony) Pfau. They were married on June 18, 1946, in Mandan.
Rose spent many hours working in her flower garden. She was a true homemaker. Her family was first and foremost in her life. There were many long-lasting friendships developed through a card club of over 40 years. Her number one love was spending time with her grandchildren.
Rose was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joseph Circle and a 57 year member of the Catholic Daughters.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lyvon (Terry) Hellman, Mandan; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill (Deb) Pfau, Mandan; her grandchildren, Shaylynn Hellman Bismarck, Sandi Hellman, Little Canada, Minn., Lacey Solberg, Fargo, and Tony and Kendall Pfau, both of Mandan; and two sisters, Betty Wetsch, Mandan, and Maggie Spencer, Fort Collins, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers-in-law, Frank Wetsch and Hank Goertzen.
The family prefers memorials to St. Joseph's Church Trust Fund.
