Alvina Jungling, 105, Bismarck, passed away July 28, 2016.
Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 1, at McCabe United Methodist Church, 1030 N 6th St., Bismarck, with Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating.
Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm Sunday, July 31, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.
Alvina was born to Jacob and Katie Hoff on November 6, 1910. Alvina and her husband Reinhold made their home on a farm near Bismarck with their two sons, Curtis and Donnie Jungling. Alvina loved all kinds of animals and always had a pet house dog, along with several other farm dogs. Some of these were strays dropped off near the farm north Washington St., where they always found a loving home. She once remarked that one of the cows could not be sold because she gave them so many wonderful calves.
Alvina was a member of McCabe United Church as well as the Riverside Homemaker’s Club. She had a terrific sense of humor and could tell a good joke. She was cared for by her loving sons, Curtis and Donnie, in the last years of her life. She enjoyed caning pickles and baking her favorite angel food cakes. In the last years of her life, she lost her ability to speak but her mind was sharp and she was still able to communicate in other ways. She especially enjoyed celebrating her birthdays and other special holidays at her niece, Betty (Ron Leingang) and niece, Kathy Rodgers, homes.
Alvina is survived by her sons, Curtis and Donnie (Jean) Jungling; her sisters, Elnora Stengel, Amanda Paulsso, and Clara Baker; along with many nieces and nephews.
Alvina was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhold; sisters, Rose Weise, Lydia Shell, and Edna Rodgers; and her brothers, Jack, Leroy, Walter, and Emanual Hoff.
