Birth: Apr. 23, 1928 Death: Oct. 18, 2001 US Air Force Obituary supplied by nailgal123 Adolph "Cub" Baer, 73, of Benton, a retired policeman, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001. He was born April, 23, 1928 in Helena to the late Adolph and Estella Major Baer. He served in the Air Force from 1947 until 1950 and then attended Midwest Trade School in Denver, Colo. A short time later, he joined the Little Rock Police Department, where he was employed for 26 years until his retirement in 1981. He was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees, taught Sunday School Class and sang in the Choir. It was also at Salem UMC that he and his wife began "Our Kitchen Ministry" that served meals in conjunction with Bible Study Classes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Rev. Joe Baer. Surviving are his wife of 50 years Elizabeth Rowe Baer; two sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth and Linda Baer of Little Rock and Donald and Lynne Baer of Bryant; two daughters and sons-in-law Susi and Jim Hildebrand of Stuttgart and Mary and Bill Stoecker of DeWitt; one sister-in-law Joan Baer of Osmond, Neb.; and seven grandchildren. Funeral was Monday, Oct. 22, at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Kelso officiating. Burial was at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Roller-Ballard Funeral Home.
