  [S927] Obituary. Eleanor Marthaller, age 87, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at New Horizons Assisted Living in Anaconda. It is with great sadness that we, the family, morn the loss of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Eleanor was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Sheffield, N.D., to John and Cecelia (Kuntz) Herauf. She grew up in the Sheffield/Dickinson area. Eleanor was married to John Marthaller Feb. 13, 1946, in Anaconda. They were married for 51 years. John died July 22, 1997. Eleanor worked in the kitchen at Warm Springs State Hospital for twelve years and at the Community Hospital for five years. During their time together, they lived in Anaconda, Deer Lodge, Milton-Freewater, Ore., and Spokane, (Cheney) Wash. Eleanor moved back to Anaconda in 2000, where she met her very special friend, Francis “Beefo” Harrington. They enjoyed six years together until he died last November. Eleanor was preceded |in death by her parents; husband; special friend; eight brothers; and recently her two sisters, Mary Ann Jurcich and Katie Kostelecky. Survivors include John G. Marthaller (Julie) and Laura Marthaller (Eugene); five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
