Harvey Glen Wurster was born July 18, 1919 northeast of Lenox, the son of Harry Wurster and Rose Schaffer Wurster.
Harvey lived and worked all of his life on the family farm. In 1931, Harvey's father died, and even though Harvey was a good student, and only 12 years old, he quit school to work on the farm.
Harvey kept up with the many changes and technological advances in farming over the years. He purchased a Jeep after World War II and used it around the farm, replacing at least one horse. Harvey also got his pilot's license about this time and learned how to fly. Harvey was well read, keeping up with current affairs. He also enjoyed reading about cars and farm machinery, and often attended farm equipment shows. Harvey did not travel much; he liked staying close to home but he did enjoy attending the Iowa State Fair, often taking his nephews with him.
In later years, Harvey purchased a moped and would often venture to town and see what was going on, then head back home. He was a long time member of the Prairie Star Presbyterian Church and also the Lenox United Presbyterian Church.
Harvey is survived by two nephews, Marvin Goldner and wife Kathy of Chesterfield, Missouri and Joe Goldner and wife Shirley of Macks Creek, Missouri; four great-nephews, Daniel, Gerald and Kyle Goldner and Eric Milton; three great-nieces, Kim Anthes, Cheryl Durand and Erin Milton; six great-great nephews and six great-great nieces.
Preceding Harvey in death are his parents Harry and Rose; a brother Howard; a sister Pearl; a nephew, H.D. Goldner and his wife Shirley; a niece Evelyn Leffler and husband Larry; and an infant nephew.
