RACINE – August M. Perman, 84, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2004, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
August was born in Hague, North Dakota, July 2, 1920, son of the late Gustav and Lydia (nee: Boschee) Perman. On June 22, 1946, Augie was united in marriage to Katherine G. "Cotton" Braun at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church in Sturtevant. During World War II, he proudly served in the United States Army stationed in the Pacific Theater. He was employed with the Eisendrath Tannery for many years and retired from Kranz Inc. Augie was a longtime active member of St. Sebastian's Catholic Church where he served as an usher for 25 years and helped with their festival for 50 years. He also was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society and the Optimist Club. Augie also enjoyed playing cards and dartball, but his greatest pleasure came from his time spent with his loving family and playing with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, cotton; three children, Robert M. Perman, Lynn (Jim) Christoplis, all of Racine, Dennis G. (Debbie) Perman of Honey Creek; eight grandchildren, Chris (Heidi) Perman, Jenny Perman, Mike (Lisa) Perman, Paul Perman, Julie Perman, Shelly Perman, Keith Christoplis, Tara Christoplis; four great-grandchildren, Mercedez, Noah, Vanessa and Kelsey; sisters, Adeline Garner, Evie (Bernard) Loughan; brothers, Otto (Grace) Perman, Ray (Delores) Perman, all of Racine; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Verna Braun of Racine, Nick (Delores) Braun of Racine, George Braun of Florida, Anna Lee Braun of Browntown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents; Augie was also preceded ion death by his brother, Gottlieb “Hank”.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, 3100-95th Street, Sturtevant, Monday, November 8, 2004, 10 a.m. with Reverend James Kendzierski officiating. Interment with Full military Honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Sunday from 3 until 5 p.m. and Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Sebastian's Catholic Church have been suggested. Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main Street.
