Charles K. Brown, 84, of Versailles, Kentucky, husband of Mary P. Brown, died January 18, 2002 at his residence. Born in Anderson County October 22, 1917, he was the son of the late Edward A. and Ethel Klem Brown Sr. He was a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marine, a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, a member of the Anderson County Masonic Lodge #90, and a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Charleen Vittitow of Versailles; four grandsons, Ken and Timothy Cox, both of Versailles, and Chuck and Douglas Carmickle, both of Lawrenceburg; five great-grandchildren; a niece, Rita Bogusky of Florida; and a nephew, Ed Brown of Florida. A daugher, Georgeann Carmickle, is deceased. Services were conducted January 22 at Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel in Versailles. Burial was in Sand Springs Cemetery in Anderson County.The Woodford Sun, Versailles Ky, January 24, 2002
