Born in Anderson County October 22, 1917, he was the son of the late Edward A. and Ethel Klem Brown Sr. He was a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marine, a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, a member of the Anderson County Masonic Lodge #90, and a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Charleen Vittitow of Versailles; four grandsons, Ken and Timothy Cox, both of Versailles, and Chuck and Douglas Carmickle, both of Lawrenceburg; five great-grandchildren; a niece, Rita Bogusky of Florida; and a nephew, Ed Brown of Florida. A daugher, Georgeann Carmickle, is deceased. Services were conducted January 22 at Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel in Versailles.
