Barry Wade Peterson, son of Pauline (Wolberg) and Howard Earl Peterson, was born Monday, July 24, 1950 in Dickinson. He was raised on the family farm eight miles north of Amidon. He attended country school, grade school and graduated from Bowman High School in 1968. He attended Dickinson State College and Bismarck Junior College, graduating with an Ag Degree.
He met the love of his life, Norma Jean Sayler, September 15, 1970, on her birthday, and they were married May 20, 1972. Barry joined the United States Army in 1972, and he and his wife were stationed at Fort Carson, Colo. for three years. While living in Colorado, they had two children, Dallas and Michelle. In 1976, they moved back to North Dakota and a third child was born, Travis, completing their family. He was a man of multiple talents and endeavors, with the last being an over the road truck driver, having retired in 2011 from Northwest Tire in Dickinson.
Barry loved to read, and watch MASH and Bonanza. He loved working with his hands and being out at the old farm place helping his brother farm and ranch. Most of all Barry loved to sit in his chair and watch his wife, children and grandchildren.
Although he will be reunited with his lovely bride, he will be missed dearly by his three children, Dallas (Michele) Peterson, Colorado Springs, Colo., Michelle (Jason) Biegler, Steele, and Travis (Charlotte) Peterson, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Eric Fischer, Morgan Biegler, Jacob Biegler, Tyler Peterson, Melissa Peterson, Kaitlyn Peterson, and Trenton Peterson; sisters, Jan (Chuck) DeFoe, Hettinger, and Jerry (Harvey) Bieber, Brockway, Mont.; brother, Howard (Randa) Peterson, Amidon; aunt, Christine Wiesz, Bowman; sisters-in-law, Della (Delmar) Schilling, Wishek, Vangie (Walter) Ketterling, Wishek, Linda Mosset, Wishek, and Blanche (Jim) Nagel, Garrison; and brother-in-law, Jim (Crystal) Sayler, Pollock, S.D.
