Alvin H. Timm, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed peacefully on October 30, 2012 with his family at his side.
Alvin was born May 11, 1921 in Cady Township, WI, to Herman and Rose (Faber) Timm. He attended school in Cady Township where he grew up.
On October 20, 1942, Alvin entered the U.S. Army. He was a proud WWII veteran, serving in North Africa and Italy. He was a past Commander of the Hudson V.F.W. and a member of the Woodville American Legion Post 330.
Alvin was a farmer, carpenter and retired from Milwaukee Railroad. He had worked at a packing plant in South St. Paul, farmed in Cady Township for about 20 years and worked for Milwaukee Railroad for 23 years, retiring in 1984.
On July 18, 1942, Alvin married Colleen Faul at Wildwood in Eau Galle Township, Wisconsin. They celebrated 70 years of marriage together and were blessed with three children, Larry, Sue and Cheryl.
Alvin enjoyed fishing, hunting and dancing, especially the polka. Alvin and Colleen wintered in Texas for 24 years.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Larry; three brothers, Ralph, Arden and Floyd; nieces, Jodi Timm and Theresa Timm; and brother-in-law, Clarence 'Sam' Delong.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Colleen; children, Sue (Bill) Farris, Cheryl Gambal; daughter-in-law, Debbie Timm Biron; grandchildren, Tina (Jeff) Perenic, Tim Farris, Sarrah (Kevin) Mattila, Sean Timm, Derek Timm and Rachel (Nathan) Rogowski; great-grandchildren, Allie and Ryan Farris and Skylar and Sidney Mattila; sisters-in-law, Trudy Timm, Jeanette Timm and Alpha Delong; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday November 5th, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Spring Valley, WI, with Rev. Martin Wegner officiating. Sharleen Bammert was organist. Burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery, Cady Township, Wisconsin with full military honors provided by Woodville American Legion Post 330.
Pallbearers were Alvin's grandchildren, Tina Perenic, Tim Farris, Sarrah Mattila, Sean Timm, Derek Timm, and Rachel Rogow-
ski. A man this loved will always be remembered.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lakeview Medical Center Hospice Care Services and The Alzheimer's Association are preferred.
Keehr Funeral Home handled arrangements.
