Steven DeLong, age 70, of Woodville, Wisconsin died Monday morning at his home.
Funeral for Steve will be on Thursday, July 17 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville with Rev Andy Boe officiating.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 16 from 5-8 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church and also at church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Lone Pine Cemetery, Woodville.
Steve was born April 1, 1944 to Clarence ‘Sam' and Alpha (Faul) DeLong in Baldwin. He was baptized and confirmed and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville.
Steve attended Baldwin-Woodville Schools, graduating with the Class of 1962. He attended Eau Claire Vo Tech, graduating in 1964 and a later went to St Paul Vo Tech where he studied tool and die making. He entered the US Army in 1965 and served for 2 years.
On May 4, 1968 Steve married Maxine Sturm at St Mary's Catholic Church in Hammond, Wisconsin. Steve began his career at Doughboy Industries in New Richmond; He worked for and retired from 3M after 35 years. He was a lifelong farmer, he loved being a steward of the land, tractors, and milking cows. Steve enjoyed attending tractor shows and auctions, and collected and restored several antique tractors. He loved dancing, country music and after his retirement in 2006 especially enjoyed travelling with his wife and family. He and Maxine 'snowbirded' in Arizona the past 4 years.
Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant daughter Annette.
Survivors include his wife Maxine of Baldwin; 3 children: Tara (Willem Van Roosenbeek) DeLong of LaCrosse, WI; Mike (Sherry) DeLong of Woodville; and Jeff (Drucilla Krienke) DeLong of Baldwin; 5 grandchildren: Amber, Abbie, Sophia, Isabella and Eathan; 2 sisters: Margaret Ann (David ‘Pete') Bossman of Woodville and Vickie (Tom) Edin of Hudson, WI; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville with Rev Andy Boe officiating. Organist was Judy Veenendaal and vocalist was John Terkelsen. Visitation was on Wednesday from 5-8 pm at Zion Lutheran. Burial was in Lone Pine Cemetery, Woodville.
Pallbearers were Greg Gillitzer, Paul Moehle, Thomas Sloan, Nathan Edin, Richard 'Dick' Marcott, and Gary Falde
