Bio: Elmer E. Faul, 72, Minot, ND, died Sunday, December 21, 2003 at his home.Elmer was born on January 5, 1931, by Benedict, ND, the son of David and Louise (Bader) Faul. He was the third of eleven children. He was raised in the Sawyer, Harvey, Hurdsfield areas. He attended school in a country school north of Hurdsfield.He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1950. He served his country proudly for over 20 years with five tours of duty in Germany. He also spent time in Korea, Puerto Rico, Vietnam and was assigned many state side posts. He went through the ranks of an enlisted man and in 1966, he was accepted into the Warrant Officer Circle and he retired in 1970 as a Chief Warrant Officer Second Grade. While in the military he worked in vehicle maintenance. He truly loved his military life.On November 7, 1953, he married his sweetheart Helen Degenstein in Fessenden, ND. They had three children, Jack, Steven and Debbie. After he retired from the Army, he went to work for Dakco Distributing as a consolidator, loading all the trucks that had deliveries to make. In 1986, he purchased his own truck and was contract driver for Dakco Distributing under the name of E. F. Trucking. He retired from that job in 1995. Elmer was a proud and loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He was especially proud of his two grandsons, Brian and Eric and his three beautiful granddaughters, Diana, Stephanie and Patricia.Elmer is survived by his wife, Helen (of 50 year), Minot; son, Jack of Minot, daughter, Debbie (David) Schiele, Towner. Grandsons, Brian and his special friend, Melissa, Reno, Nevada, Eric (Sarah) of Minot; granddaughters, Diana and her fiancee, Travis Finck, Grand Forks, Stephanie, Minot, Patricia, Towner; four great-grandchildren; brothers, William (Rosene) Faul, Hurdsfield, Nd , Kenneth (Karen) Faul, Harvey, Dennis (Alice) Faul, Harvey, Gary (Donna) Faul, New Kirk, Oklahoma, mother-in-law, Stephanie Degenstein, Minot; sisters-in-law, Magdelena (Ronald) Overly, Minot, Mary (Gerald) Auran, Maxbass, ND, Dora Degenstein, Fargo, Linda and Marge Faul, Harvey; brother-in-law, Leo Degenstein, Minot. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Steve, and brothers, Alvin, Fred, Raymond and Clifford.Funeral: Monday, December 29, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Minot.Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, MinotVisitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.Officiant: Rev.
