Wiedmeir 03 Feb 1955.SEIBEL, BEN JR.* HARVEY -- Ben Seibel Jr., 65, Harvey, died July 16, 1995, in the Harvey hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Harvey, with the Rev. Larry Giese officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey. Visitation will be from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey. Ben Seibel was born July 13, 1930 at Harvey, to Ben E. and Ella (Faul) Seibel. Ben was raised and educated at Martin and Harvey. He graduated from Harvey High School in 1951. On Oct. 4, 1951 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Panama and Greenland before being honorably discharged, Sept. 21, 1953. He married Lois Wiedmeier, Feb. 27, 1955 at Harvey. To this union, three children were born, DeNae, Neil and Jay. Ben began working for Soo Line Railroad in March 1956. The family lived in Harvey until 1961 when they moved to Thief River Falls, Minn. Lois died Feb. 3, 1965. Ben returned to Harvey with his three children. He managed the Montgomery Ward Catalog Store from June 1965 to April 1966. He married Agnes Schuh, Sept. 3, 1967 at Anamoose. This union brought two more children, Amy and Todd. From April 1966 to March 1973, Ben managed the Mobil Bulk Station in Harvey. In November 1973, Ben was reinstated on the Soo Line Railroad and retired as a locomotive engineer in December 1994 after 30 years of service. Ben was a member of First Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and sang in the church choir.He was a member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Lions Club and Harvey Golf Club, all of Harvey. He was also a member of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Ben enjoyed golfing, traveling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Agnes; his children, DeNae and Kent Reiswig, Cottage Grove, Minn., Neil and Evonne, Harvey, Jay and Karen, Beulah, and Amy and Shane Haugen, and Todd and Jen, all of Bismarck; eight grandchildren, Christopher and Tara Reiswig, LaDawn Blake and Brock Seibel, Jared and Kendra Seibel, and Zachary Seibel; his mother, Ella Seibel, Harvey; one sister, Ruby Steinhorst, Harvey; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Marcie, Lodi, Calif., Jerry and Pat, Fergus Falls, Minn., and Marlo and Sharon, Wahpeton; his mother-in-law, Alma Wiedmeier, Harvey. He was preceded in death by his father, Ben; and his wife, Lois. The family prefers memorials to First Lutheran Church Elevator Fund, or United Scleroderma Foundation.
