  [S927] Obituary. Obituary for Dorothy Elaine Zeller The funeral service for Dorothy Elaine Zeller, 87, Aberdeen will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Pastor Chris Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Dorothy died Tuesday, February 3, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen. Visitation is 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Dorothy Elaine Glaser was born October 25, 1927 to Gustave and Martha (Glaser) Glaser in Ipswich, SD. She grew up and attended school in Aberdeen, graduating from Central High School. She was active in Luther League, played volleyball and enjoyed ice skating. As a young girl, Dorothy relished spending time at her uncle?s farm. After graduating, she worked as a telephone operator at Northwestern Bell for several years. Dorothy married Allen Zeller on March 27, 1948 in Aberdeen, SD. They had met at a dance at the Wylie Park Pavilion and enjoyed attending many dances in the area over the years. Dorothy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was active in her circle. Later she was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was always caring and hardworking. Over the years Dorothy cared for her mother and several others in the family. She was a leader in the Brownies and Scouts when her children were young. She kept a large garden and enjoyed cooking. Playing cards with family and friends was a favorite pastime of hers. She liked to travel and loved family vacations and gatherings. She was an avid bowler, liked the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. Dorothy and Allen had six loving children: David (Marian Holty) Zeller of Aberdeen, Bonnie (Kenneth) Karst of Watertown, SD, Diane (Chuck) Phillips of Andover, MN, Bruce (Rita) Zeller of Aberdeen, Gail (Doug) Stotz of Aberdeen, and Lynn (Todd) Hanson of Aberdeen; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Jerry Glaser, Donald (Gayle) Glaser, Gloria (Allan) Zeller, and Martha Jean (Dennis) Schwan. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband: Allen; parents: Gustave and Martha; and four brothers: Marvin, Raymond, Lester and Kenneth Glaser.
