TRAVERSE CITY - James Henry Weatherholt, 61, passed away Friday, May 6, 2005, at his home. He was born Aug. 8, 1943, in Traverse City, to Leo and Della (Hannah) Weatherholt.
In June 1963, he graduated from St. Francis Catholic School in Traverse City. On Nov. 9, 1963, he married his beloved wife of 41 years, Connie Winowiecki.
James attended two years of college at Besser Tech. He was a mason tender, fiberglass applicator, mechanic, carpenter, toolpusher on the oil rigs and a licensed certified nursing assistant at Grand Traverse Pavilions.
James enjoyed fishing, woodworking, hunting, gardening, making and repairing guns and working on and building cars. He loved dancing.
James is survived by his loving wife, Connie; children, Jamie (Sherri), Joseph (Brenda), Jeremy (Pam) and Connie Lin Weatherholt; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Cynthia, Caleb, Johnathon, Xavier, Taylor and Kori; several step-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe, Mike and Kneal; six sisters, Eddie, Francie, Nadine, Sylvia, Joanie and Vera; mother, Della; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Tomas; and daughter Debbra.
A visitation will be held Monday, May 9, 2005, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Covell Funeral Homes in Traverse City, where a rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Covell Funeral Homes of Traverse City.
