John died Friday Aug 4, 1989 at Selby Good Samaritan Center. John Pudwill Jr. was born May 30, 1900 to John and Johanna Sauter-Pudwill near Hague, North Dakota. John attended a rural school near his parents farm. He lived in the Hague, North Dakota until he married Pauline Berreth on March 13, 1923 at Mound City. They lived south of Hague where he farmed in the Hague and Herreid areas. In 1952 they moved into Herreid. He entered the Selby Good Samaritan nursing home in March 1982. For many years he traveled extensively in North and South Dakota as a horse trader. He was a member of Herreid Baptist Church.
