Birth: May 20, 1930 Tuttle Kidder County North Dakota, USA Death: Nov. 18, 2015 New Rockford Eddy County North Dakota, USA Raymond “Ray” Weisenburger, age 85, of New Rockford, ND, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford. He was born May 20, 1930 in Tuttle, North Dakota to Peter and Helena (Rath) Weisenburger. He was the ninth of ten children. The family moved to New Rockford when he was a child. He married Rita Elken on September, 24, 1950, at New Rockford, and they raised three children there. They farmed, and he later owned his own painting and texturing business. He also worked at the New Rockford Public School as a Custodian for many years. Ray was an avid outdoorsman and was a hell of a shot. He enjoyed many hours hunting and fishing. He loved to spend time in his workshop building personalized keepsakes for his grandchildren. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy and he loved to watch them in sports and activities. He is remembered for his comforting singing voice which he shared with the community at weddings, funerals and in church. He enjoyed competing with his friends throwing dice at the bakery and at Rockford Cafe, his home away from home. Ray is survived by his children, Allan (Gail) Weisenburger, Marlin (Valerie) Weisenburger, Shelley (Bruce) Eisenzimmer; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Ray is also survived by one brother, Richard Weisenburger, and a sister, Agnes Stilwell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; his parents; his siblings: Lydia (Gottfred) Weber, Annie (Ed) Walz, Bert (Erna) Weisenburger, Alvina (Bill) Sanders, Albert (Marion) Weisenburger, Emma (Roy) Brown, Lorraine (Elmer) Mehlhoff; and step-mother, Martha Weisenburger.
