Ellestine Guthmiller
1937 ~ 2015
Ellestine Guthmiller, 78, of Meridian, Idaho, died Friday, July 31, 2015 at home.
She was born March 11, 1937 in Delmont, South Dakota.
Viewing will be at Cloverdale Funeral Home on Thursday, August 6th from 5pm - 7pm.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 7th at 1:00 pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home.
Ellestine Guthmiller was born to Theodore and Lydia (Winter) Beitz on the family farm near Delmont, South Dakota. She attended and graduated Delmont High School.
She was united in marriage to Charles C. Guthmiller from Trip, South Dakota on December 13, 1955 in Laverne, Minnesota. They then joined the family life of the United States Air Force and was able to travel around the world. Afterwards they retired to Meridian, Idaho where she began working for the Meridian School District as a school cook. She later became the school cook manager for Ustick Elementary School for twenty-five years. She was a very patriotic woman.
Her hobbies included bible studies, playing card games, doing ceramics, and playing penny slot machines. She loved animals and had a passion for them, along with home interiors, visiting with friends, and having her family around her. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Delmont, South Dakota and Hope Lutheran Church of Eagle, Idaho. She loved having barbecues in the backyard where she enjoyed cherry pie and chicken.
She is survived by her sons, David Guthmiller of Meridian, Idaho and Keith Guthmiller; 3 grandsons, Jamie, Tyler, and Nate, of Freeman, South Dakota; Breanna Guthmiller Ensley United States Navy and son-in-law, Nick; Brigitte Bell and son-in-law Derrick; grandchildren, Merced Bell of North Carolina United States Army, Nickolas Bell United States Marines of California, Julio, Monika, Gabby, Jordan, Leandra, Kayla, Amber, and Crystal of Meridian, Idaho; one great-grandchild, Isaac of California; 2 sisters, Viola Mach of Yankton, SD and Norma Verzani, Rapid City, SD and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; youngest son, Lee; and 2 sisters, Hilda and Leona.
We would like to thank Legacy Hospice, especially Karen, Barb, Harold, Amanda, and Cris for all their support and compassion for not only Ellestine, but for the family.
