Sr. Ann Regis Ruder O.P.
RACINE - Sr. Ann Regis Ruder O.P., 83, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center in Racine on Sunday, November 11, 2001. She was born October 1, 1918, to Jacob and Ann (nee: Adler) Ruder in Marshfield. On August 17, 1932, the former Marguerita Ruder joined the Racine Dominicans and at her reception in 1934 she was given the religious name, Sr. Ann Regis. She professed her first vows in 1936 and her final vows in 1942. Sr. Ann Regis spent many years in ministry to others as a teacher. She started her teaching career at St. Bernard, Madison in 1936 until 1940; followed by St. Rose, Racine 1941 until 1942; Holy Angels Grade School, Milwaukee 1942 until 1944; St. Francis Xavier, Merrill 1944 until 1947; Holy Name, Kimberly 1947 until November of 1948; St. Bernard, Madison as principal 1948 until 1954; St. John High School, Little Chute 1954 until 1959; Nativity of Our Lord, Detroit, Mich. 1959 until 1962; St. Catherine High School, Racine 1962 until 1965; St. John High School, Little Chute as principal 1965 until 1967; St. Mary, Kansasville 1967 until 1968; St. Clement, Center Line, Mich. 1968 until 1971; Edgewood High School, Madison 1971 until 1982. She spent three years, 1982 until 1985, in Madison as a volunteer in Pastoral Ministry. She came to Siena Center, Racine in 1985 where she served as the Business Manager until her retirement 1992. Sr. Ann Regis received her B.A. from St. Norbert College, DePere and her M.A. from the College of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn. Sr. Ann Regis is survived by the Racine Dominican Sisters and Associates; her brother, Dr. Joseph Ruder of Selma, Ala.; her sisters-in-law, Grace (Robert) Ruder of Peoria, Ariz., Lorraine (Oscar) Ruder of Marshfield, and Lorna (Harold Ruder) Stonis of Long Beach, Calif.; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Ann Ruder; her brothers, Phillip, Nicholas, Robert, Oscar, Harold, and Jacob; her sisters, Sr. Clarice (Adele) Ruder O.P., and Helen Sampson. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Siena Center Chapel, Thursday, November 15, 2001, at 6:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Highway 32. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. until time for the Liturgy with a Remembering Service at 4:30 p.m. Memorials to the Racine Dominican Ministry Fund have been suggested
