Nashua, N.H. -- Charles O. Ruder, 59, of Merrimack, died at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell, Massachusetts, Sept. 1, 1998, after a sudden illness.
He was born in Marshfield Nov. 19, 1938, a son of the late Philip and Barbara (Kienlan) Ruder.
He was educated in Wisconsin and graduated from Columbus High School in Marshfield. He continued his education at a business college in Milwaukee. Since moving to New Hampshire, he attended New Hampshire Technical College in Nashua and received an AAS degree in Industrial Electronics in December 1991.
A resident of Merrimack since 1974, he had previously lived in Wisconsin.
From 1972 to 1984, Mr. Ruder was employed as operations manager for Mohawk Associates in Nashua, a manufacturing company supplying the footwear industry. Leaving there in 1984, he spent the next six years with Apollo Computer and Chelmsford, Mass., as senior production supervisor of manufacturing and four years with Nashua Corporation as technical supervisor in the computer products division in Nashua. From 1994 to the present, Mr. Ruder was production/facilities supervisor for ELTECH Electronics in Lowell, Mass.
For the past eight years, he served as business manager of Country Crossing Condominium Association in Merrimack. In 1997, he was certified as an association management specialist by the Community Association Institute.
He was an avid golfer and participated in a golf league through ELTECH Electronics.
Mr. Ruder was a family-oriented person and a specially enjoyed various activities with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Ruder and Phyllis Radtke.
Survivors include his wife of almost 39 years, Karen Lee (Seehafer) Ruder of Merrimack; two daughters and sons-in-law; a son; five grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services in his honor will be held in Christ the King Lutheran Church, Broad St., Nashua, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. John R. Spangler, pastor, will officiate. Friends are invited to attend. Interment prayers and burial will follow immediately in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack.
