NEWS ARTICLE REINIG Adelaide 1 JG 03/17/1952 Girl, 9 Dies After Fall From Car
Death of a nine year old girl Sunday night brought the year's traffic fatality total to 11 in Fort Wayne and Allen County.
Adelaide Reinig, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Sylvester Reinig, RR 1, Fort Wayne, died at 9:20 PM Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital of skull fracture received about 8:45 AM in a fall from her father's car on the Old Auburn Road. The accident occurred while the family was on the way to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.
The girl, who died without regaining consciousness, was a fourth grade pupil at the Cathedral Grade School. The girl grabbed a back door of the family car as it was thrown open by the wind and clung to the opened door as the slowly moving car was brought to a stop. She received the head injury when she dropped to the pavement as the car was brought to a fast stop. She died without regaining consciousness.
Surviving in addition to the parents are a brother Virgil, in the Army at Camp Breckenridge, KY who is now home on furlough, four sisters, Helen, Arlene, Lois and Carol Ann, all at home and the paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Reinig.
The body was taken to the Getz & Cahill funeral home pending funeral arrangements.

Nuns told us in the Cathedral parking lot, after church, she dropped her rosary out of the car and tried to reach for it while holding on to the door handle and when the father noticed it he slammed on the breaks trying to stop fast and the door flew completely open and she was thrown to the concrete, hitting the back of her head and how she went to heaven because she had just attended Mass. However, they always added drama and religion to everything.....??
She sat behind me and was so young to be such a demon, pulling hair curls saying "boing boing", cutting it, putting ink on it, poking me, calling me weiner girl because of old fashioned long curls. Oh she looks like an angel to me now. LOL she would squinch her eyes and show her front teeth in a demon like look.
Her older sister had a black velvet dress and looked pure white with grief as she showed us where to go at the wake. Everyone was utterly shocked. I think she wore her First Communion dress, not sure.
