Aberdeen - Viola Aipperspach, 80, of Aberdeen, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1732 S. Main St., Aberdeen, with Rev. Tanya Rist officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen, with a public prayer service being held at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Viola Dockter was born May 11, 1924, at Zeeland, N.D., to Henry and Katharina (Meidinger) Dockter. She attended country school near Zeeland. After her schooling, she helped on the family farm. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Zeeland, N.D.
Viola was married to Ferdinand Aipperspach on Sept. 30, 1948, at Zeeland. They made their first home on his parents' farm. In 1956 they moved to Aberdeen.
She worked at various restaurants until 1972, when she became employed in housekeeping at Presentation College. She retired in 1985 but continued to keep active by babysitting in her home.
Mr. Aipperspach died on Jan. 28, 1989, and Viola continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Aberdeen and a member of the "P" Circle. Viola enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, crafts and puzzles. She was very proud of her German heritage.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna Lou (Royce) Keenan of Battleground, Wash., Jeanette (Gerald) Jasmer of New Hope, Minn., and Valeria Aipperspach of Hawaii; two brothers, Alfred (Elaine) Dockter of Zeeland, N.D., and Harry (Agnes) Dockter of Bismarck, N.D.; two sisters, Helen Just of LaMoure, N.D., and LaVerna (Clifton) Kaseman of Wishek, N.D.; and four grandchildren, Brad and Cindy Keenan and Robin and Lisa Jasmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five brothers.
Casketbearers will be Joel Dockter, Walter Just, Roger Reich, Cameron Dockter, Tim Dockter and Don Palmer.
