TOLY, Margaret Mary (Kiefel) Margaret Mary (Kiefel) Toly, a longtime resident of Bethel Island, CA, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family, May 24, 2015. Margaret was born to Alvin and Jean Kiefel, April 15, 1960 in Spokane, WA. She was the 6th child of their 9. She attended St. Patrick's grade school, Gonzaga Prep., EWU, and received her Nursing degree from Lewis and Clark College. Margaret married Matt Toly on August 12, 1989 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, in Spokane, WA. They welcomed their daughter, Katie, into the world in 1994. Margaret is survived by her husband Matthew Toly, daughter Katherine Toly; mother Jean Kiefel; mother-in-law Mary Kay Toly; siblings: Michael (Kristi) Kiefel, Kathy (Jerry) McMaster , Mary DeFreese, Joe (Chris) Kiefel, Jerry (Donna) Kiefel, John (Lani) Kiefel, Joanne (Neil) Membrey, and Pat Kiefel; brothers-in-law Walter and Chris (Michele)Toly, and sister-in-law Karen Toly. She is also survived by 19 nieces and nephews and 15 2/3 grand nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. Margaret started her Nursing career at Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane, WA in 1986 and began her 25- year journey with Sutter Delta Medical Center, Antioch, CA in February 1990. For all her efforts and contributions, she was recognized and honored as Sutter Delta's Employee of the Year for 2012. The past 9 years, she was a clinical educator using her creative flare and received many compliments on how fun she made each class. In her honor, the American flag was flown half-mast on Sutter Delta campus for 7 days. There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church in Spokane, WA, June 27, 2015, at 11 a.m. with reception following at the school hall. Giving 155% was Margaret's standard. She excelled in learning and never missed an opportunity to share her knowledge. She was an artist, crafter, and Theme Queen Extraordinaire. Family, friends, compassion and justice were her passions.
