Carl A. Lorenz
Carl A. Lorenz, 50, of Watertown, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Marquardt Memorial Manor following a long illness, surrounded by his family and friends.
Funeral services for Carl will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Watertown.
Family and friends may call to pay their respects at the Hafemeister Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the church, Marquardt Memorial Manor or Marquardt Hospice.
Carl was born on Nov. 9, 1958, son of Paul and Eleanor (Krubsack) Lorenz, in Watertown. On April 1, 1978, he married Lois Ferderer at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown. He attended St. John's Lutheran School and was a 1976 graduate of Watertown High School. Carl was a carpenter for Colonial Builders and Weisensel Contractors.
Carl was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, serving as a trustee, elder, usher, a choir member and on the counting committee. He enjoyed helping people, camping and deer hunting. Carl was a good Christian and his faith sustained him through his entire life.
Carl is survived by his wife, Lois of Watertown; his mother, Eleanor Lorenz of Watertown; a son, Noah of Watertown; and a daughter, April (Ian) Schaefer of West Allis. He was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild. He is also survived by two sisters, Pauline (Charles) Sukow and Sharon (Vern) Mondl of Watertown; two brothers, Norman (Michele Moede) Lorenz of Madison and David (Susan) Lorenz of St. Cloud, Minn.; his mother-in-law, Carol Ferderer of Waterloo; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam (Harold) Fredrick of Watertown, Linda (Bill) Wandersee of Watertown, Debbie (Craig) Kragenbrink of Clyman, Gayle (Joel) Medenwaldt of Johnson Creek, and Debbie (Jim DePover) Ferderer of Watertown; special friends, Jeff and Julie Kube and Dave and Judy Ulm, all of Watertown. Carl is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his father, Paul; his father-in-law, Wilmer Ferderer; and two brothers-in-law, Greg and Wesley Ferderer.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Terry Turke, Dean Clinic, St. Mary's Hospital, Turville Bay in Madison, Marquardt Memorial Manor and Marquardt Hospice for their care for Carl during his illness.
