From www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nymonnws/1915/NOV.html: Democrat & Chronicle, Fri. Nov. 5, 1915: The funeral of Nicholas J. Rendsland took place yesterday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the home, No. 76 Sterling street, and a 9 o'clock from Holy Apostles Church. Requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. James M. O'Brien. Interment was made at Holy Sephulchre cemetery. The ushers were C. W. Shayes, C. Dale, E. Copman, E. Mulvey, S. Riley and J. Kunder.
From the same newspaper, one year later on Oct 31, 1916: In memoriam: Rendsland-In sad, but loving remembrance of our dear husband and father, Nicholas J. Rendsland, who entered into rest one year ago, October 31, 1915. Gone but not forgotten.
Sad and sudden was the call,

We little thought that on that day,
That he would so suddenly be called away.
