Frank Stumpf, 71, Bismarck, died Jan. 13, 2002, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.
A vigil service will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Perry Funeral Home, and one hour before services at the church.
Frank was born Oct. 3, 1930, at Richardton, to Nick and Pauline (Glasser) Stumpf. He was raised and educated in Bismarck, and graduated from St. Mary's High School. Frank served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was stationed in Germany. He married Betty June Bryan on Nov. 20, 1954. He was employed by the Nash Finch Co. for 15 years, and later worked as a bar manager at the Corral Bar for over 20 years, retiring in 1992.
Frank particularly enjoyed his morning coffee group at Hardees, socializing with his friends and buddies at the AMVETS and VFW, and watching football and western movies.
He is survived by two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Hilda and Harry Hruby, Ann and Tony Hager and Al Hruby, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Ruth Stumpf and John and Agnes Stumpf, all of Bismarck.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; one brother, Gene; and three sisters, Eleanor, Pauline and Rosemary.
