Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, with the Rev. Bruce Krebs officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Monica was born Oct. 21, 1920, near Solen in Morton County, to George and Catherine (Leingang) Schmidt. She married Henry P. Geiger, and they farmed north of Mandan from 1941 to 1947 when they moved to Burleigh County and farmed until 1976 when they retired. Surviving Monica are her two sons and one daughter-in-law, Henry Geiger Jr., Bismarck, and Gilbert and Becky Geiger, Center; three grandchildren, Christine (Danny) Schafer, Gregory Geiger and Elizabeth Geiger; and three sisters, Katherine (George) Geiger, Rose (Adam) Heinert and Peggy (Anton) Sturn. Preceding Monica in death were her parents, George and Catherine Schmidt; her husband, Henry; her brothers, John, Joe, George, Jack, Anton and Peter; and her sisters, Elizabeth Heinert, Mathilda Friesz and Bertha Leingang.
