Margaret A. (Zins) Hoff, 86, Flasher, died peacefully at the family farm on October 06, 2003. Services will be held at 11 a.m. CDT Friday at St. lawrence Catholic Church, Flasher, with the Reverend Gary L. Benz officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Margaret was born october 20, 1916, in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Adam and Annie (Krantz) Zins. The Zins family moved to a farm near Timmer, North Dakota, in 1926. On October 24, 1939, she married Joe Hoff in Raleigh, and they moved to a farm eight miles southeast of Flasher, where they lived and raaised their 13 children until they retired to a new home at Flasher in 1991. Margaret dedicated her life to caring for the needs of her family. She partiuclarly enjoyed gardeing, canning, baaking fresh bread and raisinfg baby chicks. Later in life, she enjoyed cutting fabric blocks and sewing quilts together. She generously shared these precious creations with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a member of the Flasher Christian Mothers. Her faith in God was reflected by the way she lived her life in simplicity, compassion and love to all.
She is survived by her husband, Joe, having being married almost 64 years; their children, JoAnn and Jim Kokales, Aberdeen, South Dakota, Leander, Flasher, Evelyn and Ray Miller, Kent, Washington, Phyllis and Marvin Pasicznyk, Kennewick, Washington, Lawrence and Mavis, Flasher, Raymond and Janice, Flasher, Leo and Susan, Bismarck, Bernice and Tim Thomas, Mandan, John and Pam, Flasher, Joyce and John Miller, Flasher, Charlotte and Brian Krebs, Long Grove, Iowa, Jean and Marty Babel, Bismarck, and Jacqueline and Don Brandt, Bismarck; 44 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Zins, Turtle Lake; and one sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Joe Wingenbach, Mandan.
She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Loretta; her brothers, Valentine, Gerhard, and leander; two infant brothers; and one sister, Lenora.
