Hanson, Ruby
Graveside services for Ruby Hanson age 80 of Mesa, AZ formerly of Mobridge, SD will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Mound City Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Ruby passed away, Monday, June 29, 2015 at her home in Mesa, AZ. All are welcomed to join the family afterwards to honor and remember Ruby at Bernie's Bar and Beefstro in Mound City at 3:00pm. Ruby Ann Hanson (Mitzel), 80, Mesa, Arizona; passed away in her home June 29, 2015. Ruby was born on her family farm in Hague, N.D. September 06, 1934 to Edward and Martha Mitzel (Berreth). She married Willis Ole Hanson at the Norway Lutheran Church on June 15, 1953. She is survived by her four children; Wanda (Jack) Gray, Todd (Lori) Hanson, Scot (Anita) Hanson & Jess Hanson. She was blessed with eight grandchildren; Kelsey (Wanda), Joshua, Alisha, Jayden (Todd), Willis, Zachary (Scot), Kellee, Jammee (Jess). She also had two great grand- children, Kara and Logan (Joshua). Ruby was one of ten children. Surviving siblings are Gladys Braun, Maxine Vojta, Archie Mitzel, James Mitzel and Dale Mitzel. Ruby and her husband Willis were successful in business, cattle & ranching in Mound City until his death on March 28, 1963. Ruby was privileged and honored to receive her late husband's induction award into The South Dakota Auctioneer Hall of Fame in 2008. Ruby was involved over the years in many charitable organizations. She particularly enjoyed the Women of the Moose and the Red Hat Society. As a long time "official fan" of Elvis, she loved nothing more than dancing the polka! Ruby is preceded in death by her husband Willis, her parents Edward and Martha, her sisters Ruth Bollinger, Violet Rossow, and her brothers Karl and Alex Mitzel.
