ZelenaWeisz, 92, of Vermillion passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Sanford U.S.D. Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Zelena Fuerst was born on March 17, 1920, in Hutchinson County, S.D., to Herbert and Anna Fuerst. She married Carl Weisz on June 8, 1939 in Kaylor, S.D. She spent many years working as a nurse's aide at the Dakota Hospital in Vermillion. She was a volunteer with the Vermillion Care Center, where she earned volunteer of the year in 1999 and the Vermillion Hospice earning Volunteer of the year in 1995. She was also an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the quilters group.
