Birth: Dec. 22, 1939 Fallon Morton County North Dakota, USA Death: Feb. 5, 1994 Mandan Morton County North Dakota, USA Andrew F. Beckler was born on Dec. 22, 1939, at Fallon. He was the son of Michael M. and Magdalena (Friesz) Beckler. Andrew was raised and educated in Fallon, attending St. Joe's School in Mandan. He married Delores Dietz,Sept. 1, 1962, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. Andrew worked for Dakota Flooring from 1960 to 1962, K and H Floor Krafters from 1962 to 1975, was self-employed from 1975 to 1981. He worked for MBM Enterprises from 1981 to 1989 and Bullinger Tree Service from 1990 to 1992. He became disabled in 1992. Andrew died in the Mandan hospital Feb. 5, 1994, at the age of 54. Andrew was a member of Spirit of Life Parish and the Mandan Eagles. Before his disability he enjoyed horseshoes, bowling, dancing, fishing, camping and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Delores; one son, Troy, Mandan; Troy's former wife, Ellen Beckler, Mandan; three daughters and one son-in-law, Kim and Terry Pfleger, Solen, and Stacey Beckler and Andrea Beckler, both of Mandan; four grandchildren, Christopher, Kayla and Alison Beckler, and Cody Pfleger; his mother, Magdalena Beckler, Mandan; three brothers, Henry, Mandan, Mike Jr., Las Cruces, N.M., and Dean, Mandan; four sisters, Theresa Ressler, Louise Markel, Dorothy Berger and Jeannie Braun, all of Mandan; and special friends, Paul Seagner, Eugene Hopfauf, Paul Ressler, Barney Ternes, Jerry Lundsted and many others. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael M. Beckler; and his father-in-law, Andrew J. Dietz. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spirit of Life Church, Mandan. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, with military rites by Mandan Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdy at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a vigl wil begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a St. Maria Verein rosary at 8.
