Andrew Kraft, 80, Baptist Home, Bismarck, died Nov. 7, 2000 at the home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Saturday, at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Selfridge, with burial in St. Philomena Cemetery, Selfridge.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Knights of Columbus serivce will be held at 7p.m. and a parish vigil at 7:30 p.m., all at the funeral home. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Andrew Kraft, the son of Anton and Walberga (Schuck) Kraft was born April 22, 1920 in Strasburg. He was raised and educated in the Selfridge area where he attended rural schools. On Nov. 9, 1943, he married Theresa Mosset in Selfridge. Together they farmed in Selfridge raising cattle and grain.
Andrew worked the land and his dairy farm. His generosity would have him there at a moments notice to help others. He enjoyed living in Selfridge especially being able to walk wherever he needed to go. He was proud of his membership in the Knights of Columbus serving as a 4th Degree member. Attending church was an important part of his prayer life. His quiet and reserved manner would describe him, which was a special memory shared by family and friends.
Andrew is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David (Kay), Selfridge, Dale (Cindy), Devils Lake, and four daughters and three sons-in-law, Mary Berger, Mandan, Diane (Howard) Goetz, Mt. Vernon, Wash., Darlene (Ray) Shimek, Klamath Falls, Ore., and Kathy (Leo) Fisher, Fallon, Mont.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Louie (Florence) Kraft, Fort Yates, and his sister, Maggie Dillman, Mandan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Theresa, who died May 30, 1990; three brothers, Tony, John and Jack; and two sisters, Eva Volk and Elizabeth Froehlich.
