Predeceased by his beloved wife of 46 years, Catherine (Hertel) Gleichauf, special friend of 15 years, Dorothy Harradine; siblings, Charles (Frances), Lawrence, Sister Grace, SSJ, Mildred (Raymond), Robert (Mary), and parents, George & Theresa Gleichauf. Survived by his daughters: Nancy, Terry (Dan) Almekinder, & Christine (Peter) Metz; grandchildren: Melissa, Andrea, Tiffany, Jamie, Traci, Margot, & Chloe; siblings, Monica, Arlene (Edwin) Mathews, Doris (John) Graham, & Sister Grace Noel, SSJ, as well as several loving nieces & nephews, and many dear friends. George was a post WWII U.S. Army veteran who served in Europe. He was a longtime salesman of Standard, Topper, & Genesee Beer. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Villages at Unity for 3 years of loving care. Relatives & friends may call TODAY, Sept. 2nd from 4-7PM at the Funeral Home of Alvah Halloran & Son, 2125 Chili Ave., Gates. A Mass of Christian will be held at 9:30AM on Thurs., Sept. 3rd, at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, 3003 Dewey Ave., Rochester, NY 14616. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in George's name to the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, 150 French Rd.
