Deborah Denise Heinle, 51, Medina, ND, died Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown.
Deb was born May 10, 1954 to Richard and Clara (Kahler) Wetzel in Medina. She attended Medina Public School and graduated in 1972.
Deb married Tim Heinle in 1972. They resided in Medina. She worked at Western Gear Corp. from 1973-1980. For the next nine years she stayed at home to raise her children. In 1988, she began working at the Medina Public School where she worked as a teacher's aide. Tim and Deb were divorced in 1989.
In 1993, she enrolled at Valley City State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from VCSU in May of 1998 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in elementary education. In August of 1998, until March of 1999, she was employed by Headstart in Jamestown and also employed part-time by the Jamestown Hospital until she was diagnosed with cancer of March 23, 1999.
In the winter of 2000, she began substitute teaching part-time until she was diagnosed with a reoccurrence of cancer in May of 2000, making her unable to work and began a series of treatments until the present. The most important thing to her was family. She felt being a mother was her greatest accomplishment. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, in addition to being in the classroom teaching children. Deb enjoyed photography, ceramics, reading and writing letters. She loved snow, rain, flowers, the moon and stars. Her dog Bruzer, was a special companion to her. Two special people in her life were her niece, Hannah and her granddaughter, Abigail. She was an active member of the English Lutheran Church, Medina.
She is survived by; two sons, Travis (Angie-and granddaughter, Abigail) Heinle, Jamestown, Dustin Heinle, Bismarck; one daughter, Renae Heinle, Jamestown; four sisters, Lenora (Darold) Roemmich, Jamestown, Judith (Randy) Jorgenson, Jamestown, Elvira Pittman, Deadwood, SD, Jeanette (Raymond) Kramlich, Crystal Springs, ND and one brother, Douglas (Donna) Wetzel, Jamestown and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard (Clara) Wetzel and two sisters, Bernice Wolf and Rose Marie Wetzel.
Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, ND.
