Mirad Faul, born July 22, 1923 in Sheridan County was the eldest son of Charlie H. and Bertha (Reimche) Faul. He grew up and attended school in Denhoff, ND and joined the Navy in 1944.
He married DeLoris Graumann on August 5, 1945 in Lodi CA. After living there for two years, they moved back to a farm near Goodrich where they made their home and raised their five children.
The Faul family spent one year working in Buhler, KS but when spring came, Mirad was quickly drawn back to his farm near Goodrich until he retired in 1992. He was always a farmer at heart.
He resided in Harvey and Bismarck until his wife DeLoris passed away in 2004. Since then, he has made his home in Cooperstown where he attended Cornerstone Community Church for several years!
He was active in the Harvey Mennonite Brethren Church where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent, on Church Council, and the Goodrich Lions Club, he also appreciated in slow and fast pitch softball leagues and coaching Goodrich summer recreational programs including coaching his grandson’s t-ball team! In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing with family and friends. He was a sports enthusiast played many sports himself and enjoyed following his children and grandchildren to numerous sporting and musical events.
Both Mirad and DeLoris loved the Lord and spent time each day in His Word and praying for their children and grandchildren. Mirad with his quiet way and always present gentle smile will be missed by his family.
He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law; Wade and Marge of Cooperstown, ND, Dwight and Audrey of Cooperstown, ND, two daughters: and son-in-law, Emma Faul of Mandan, ND, Denise and Brian Kesanen of Rockford, MN, two sisters; Verla Woehl of Lodi, CA, Marlene and Val Goldade of Harvey, ND, three brothers; Arlo Faul of Lodi, CA, Wesely and Ruth of Stewartville, MN, Charles Jr. and Shirley of Goodrich, three grandsons: Ryan Faul of Brainerd, MN, Joshua and Dara Faul of Thompson, ND, Jared Faul of Detroit Lakes, MN and granddaughter Julie Faul of Fargo, ND; two great grandsons; Braden and Brycen Faul of Thompson, ND, and many nephews and nieces.
Mirad was preceded in death by parents Charlie H. and Bertha Faul, brother; Robert Faul of Harvey, ND and sister Dorothy of Lodi CA; daughter Juliann and granddaughter WenDee.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND, Thursday, May 5, 2016 in the Hertz Funeral Home in Harvey, ND from 5:00 till 7:00 followed by A Prayer Service at 7:00 pm in the Hertz Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10:30 am in the Cornerstone Community Church (formerly the Harvey Mennonite Church).
Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Country Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, rural Harvey, ND.
