- [S927] Obituary.
Agnes “Aggie” Pearl Aman, 74, Bismarck, died Aug. 22, 2015, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck. Burial will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Agnes was born to Philip and Emma (Schaeffer) Wanner in McIntosh County on March 20, 1941. Agnes spent her childhood days on the family farm and attended rural school until the eighth grade. She then went on to Wishek High School and graduated in 1959. After high school graduation, she went on to Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1962. Agnes started her career at Bismarck Hospital after graduation and spent 49 years serving others as a registered nurse. Agnes lived most of her life in Bismarck with the exception of her husband’s military enrollment. She married Duane Aman in Wishek on March 25, 1962.
Agnes enjoyed visiting with loved family and friends, gardening, canning and above all gospel music. She genuinely cared about the people that she crossed paths with.
Agnes is survived by her husband, Duane; her daughters, Marsha (Patrick) Campagna, Sheila (Cody) Ellingson and Lisa (Mike) Himmerick and her son, Jason (Chris) Aman; seven grandchildren; her sisters, Vicki LaVan, Vangie (Al) Fitterer and Inez (Roger) Becker; her brother, Vernon (Geri) Wanner; former sister-in-law, Shirley Wanner Raile; as well as many nephews, nieces and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her niece, Veronica; and her brother, Wilbert.
We invite everyone to recall and celebrate Agnes’ life and not mourn her passing, but celebrate the way her life touched others.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be donated to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society or Faith Lutheran Church in Agnes’ honor.
