Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Windsor, with the Rev. Joseph Okogba officiating. Burial will be in Medina Cemetery. Virgil Anton Brilz was born Jan. 13, 1935, at New Salem, N.D., the son of Lucas and Mary (Dworshak) Brilz. The family lived at St. Anthony where Virgil started school. They later moved to Bismarck where he finished his schooling. He was employed by Quality Meat Market in Bismarck for 18 years. He married Della Hellwig on Sept. 17, 1956, at Bismarck. In the fall of 1966, they purchased the Locker Plant in Medina. He and Della ran the Locker Plant until September 1990 when he retired due to his health. He enjoyed country western music and was the lead singer for Butch's Band for many years. He also did woodcarving and crafts and enjoyed fishing. Virgil is survived by his wife, Della Brilz, Medina; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Janet Brilz, Hunter; one daughter and son-in-law, JoEtta and Rod Davis, Winnemucca, Nev.; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Evan Davis; his mother, Mary Brilz, Jamestown; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Viney Inglish, Medina, Kathy and Ernie Dodson, Las Vegas, and Irene and Arlen Hillius, Medina; and one sister-in-law, Betty Brilz, Bismarck. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Clarence; two sisters, Lorraine and an infant sister; and one brother-in-law, Gene Inglish.
