Anne passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2006, at the St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson. Anne was born November 1, 1923 on the family farm in Dunn County, the daughter of Carl and Margaret (Boespflug) Roshau. She was the oldest of fourteen children and was her mother’s right hand in the raising of her younger siblings. Early on, she learned to prepare large and delicious meals, create beautiful and professional quality clothing and to always take time for a good laugh. Her love of a good cup of coffee over some “yucks” made many special memories for family and friends. As was common in the thirties, she completed the 8th grade at Willmen School District #11, then worked at home and away for other families in the community. On June 26, 1944, Anne married the love of her life, Pete Bullinger. Together they laughed and dance and raised seven children. Always busy, she made time to earn her GED, was a leader of the Crooked Creek 4-H Club, an esteemed member of the Friendly Neighbors Homemaker Club, represented Dunn County as a Farmer’s Union representative as well as a youth director at Heart Butte Farmer’s Union Camp and was a member of Christian Mothers. In 1964, She and Pete purchased the Manning Bar. Pete passed away in October of 1969. As a young widow, she, with the help of her children, kept the family farm running as well as the Manning Bar. After selling the bar and “retiring” she began selling Avon and sewing for others as well as her family. In 1983 she moved to Dickinson where she enjoyed time spent with family, reading lots of good books, square dancing, crocheting intricate heirlooms for her loved ones, tending her beautiful gardens and was considered a master gardener. Blessed to have shared that dimpled smile as well as her life: two sons: Darrell (Sandra) Bullinger, Jacksonville, FL and Terry (Jude) Bullinger, Dickinson; four daughters: Patti Coffey, Pocatello, ID, Donna Schmidt (fiance’, Paul Fox), Oakfield, WI, Karen (Darrell) Jones, Riverton, UT and Judy (Frankie) Cole, Red Lodge, MT; five brothers: Richard (Marlene) Roshau, Hazen and Ralph (Alice) Roshau, Chuck (Jeannie) Roshau, Robert (Sharon) Roshau, Joseph (Mary) Roshau all of Dickinson; five sisters: Francies Bullinger, Pauline (Bill) Sadowsky and Kathryn (Ray) Jilek all of Dickinson, Dolores (Richard) Franchuk, Billings, MT and Margaret (Bob) Clark, Missoula, MT; a daughter-in-law, LaVonne Bullinger, Dickinson; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; a son, Larry Bullinger; three brothers: Leo, Harry and Larry; and two sisters: Florence Haag and Irene Franchuk.
