Ruby Jewel (Trammell) Hauter, 86, of Middle Point, passed away at 4:10 a.m., Sunday at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born on January 26, 1927, in Winfield, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Henry and Minnie Lee (Terry) Trammell. On December 1, 1950, she married Doyt L. Hauter who preceded her in death on August 24, 1997.
Ruby was a waitress most of her adult life, and sold Avon for fifty years. She was a member of the Middle Point Fire Department, the V.F.W. Post 5803 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 178 Auxiliary of Van Wert and Amvets Post 698 Auxiliary of Middle Point. She attended Middle Point Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved her families, flowers, gardening and collectioning - especially angels, red birds and Pillsbury dough boys.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (David) Love of New Bremen, Ohio; her son, Joseph (Penny) Hauter of Middle Point; two grandsons, Travis Love of Little Creek, Virginia and Jonothan Hauter of Boerne, Texas; her step-granddaughter, Danielle and her family; four brothers, Wallace (Freda) Trammell and George Trammell of Winfield, TN, Avon (Kathy) Trammell of Venedocia, and Howard (Ruth Ann) Trammell of Morgantown, Indiana; two sisters, Mae Hill of Indianapolis and Joyce (Elmer) Roark of Mooesville, IN; a sister-in-law, Glenda Trammell; 53 nieces and nephews; and 73 great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Trammell, James Trammell, and Elmer in infancy; brothers-in-law, Ray Mihm and Gordon Hauter; and five sisters-in-law Shirley Trammell, Jane Trammell, Pauline Mihm, Betty Hauter and Hilda Trammell.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery.
