Magdalene Dillman, 84, Mandan, died Nov. 9, 2011, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Kenneth Phillips as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Philomena Cemetery, Selfridge.
Magdalene was born Nov. 15, 1926, to Anton and Walburga (Schuck) Kraft. Magdalene "Maggie" attended grade school at Goose Camp School for two years and then finished the next six years in Selfridge. Maggie attended two years of high school at Bismarck High School. On May 3, 1944, Maggie was united in marriage to Joe Dillman at St. Philomena Catholic Church. Joe and Maggie farmed southeast of Selfridge until November 1988, when they moved to Mandan.
Maggie enjoyed her independent lifestyle and lived it with a positive attitude and the spirit of a 25-year-old. She was very generous with her time, which was shown by her many hours of volunteer work with the Senior Citizen Center at Liberty Heights, Eagles Auxiliary, St. Alexius Medical Center and Aid Inc. in Mandan. She was active in the Senior Companion program for almost 19 years, where she had seven clients until she got sick two weeks ago. She loved spending time playing cards and visiting her clients. She enjoyed playing pinochle, bunco and kings in the corner with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and clients. Maggie spent many enjoyable weekends camping with Merc, Chuck, family and friends.
Maggie will be greatly missed by her sons, Ken (Diane) Dillman, Jamestown, and Jeff (Mary) Dillman, Mandan; her daughter, Mercy (Chuck) Bohn, Mandan; her grandchildren, Jay (Shannon) Dillman, Bismarck, Travis (Tami) Dillman, Jamestown, Kris (Brandon) Hass, Bismarck, Clint Bohn, Los Angeles, BJ Bohn, Mandan, Tina (Jamie) Naumann and Tammy Dillman, Bismarck, D.J. (Brittany) Wallace, Mandan, and Brandi (Tyler) Everding, Bismarck; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Louie Kraft, Mandan; three sisters-in-law, Maudie Dillman, Jamestown, Shirley Dillman, McIntosh, S.D., and Mary Dillman, Walker, S.D.; and one brother-in-law, Leo (Pauline) Dillman, Mandan.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe, in 1988; her brothers, Jacob, Tony, Joseph, Andy and John; and twin sisters, Eva Volk and Elizabeth Froehlich.
