SCOTLAND — Lois A. Luig, age 54, of Scotland, passed away Jan. 3, 2013, in Scotland.
A vigil service and rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Deacon Don Brown officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at St. Mary's with Rev. Jack McKone, Pastoral Administrator of St. Mary's, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Windthorst under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Lois was born Nov. 4, 1958, to Adolph Frances Veitenheimer and Marie Veronica Scheffe Veitenheimer in Wichita Falls.
She graduated in 1977 from Windthorst High School and in 1999, she received a Bachelor's Degree in business from Midwestern State University. She worked in oilfield supplies most of her life. In 2012, she purchased her own business, Mustang Supply in Wichita Falls.
She married Mark Allen Luig on April 7, 1984 in Windthorst.
Lois was a health nut. Nutrition and exercise were among her top priorities. She loved skiing both in water and snow. She loved to travel having been to France several times, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, England, Mexico and all over the United States.
Family and friends were highly important to her. She loved going on trips and went as often as possible. Family camping and get-togethers were continuous planning on her part. She was a great planner and was the one who kept the family together.
She was active in her community and involved in the Historical Society of Windthorst, the Fourth of July Kiddies' Parade, Relay for Life, and chaired St. Mary's Picnic. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scotland where she was a lay minister, lector and Eucharistic minister. She was involved with her children at their school in the FFA and Aggie Moms. She was an aphaeresis donor always donating in April as tribute to her father's fight against cancer.
Survivors include her husband, Mark of Scotland; two daughters, Kalli Moss and husband, Sam and Shaylyn Luig, all of Wichita Falls; one son, Marshall Luig in Scotland; mother, Marie Veitenheimer of Windthorst; four brothers, Keith Veitenheimer and wife, Kelly of Lakeside City, Joey Veitenheimer of Windthorst, Ronnie Veitenheimer of Bowie, and Donald Veitenheimer and wife, Laurie of Windthorst; three sisters, Suzette Schreiber and husband, Richard of Windthorst, Dianne Schroeder and husband, Butch of Windthorst, Betty Wolf and husband, Doug of Windthorst; one grandson, Hunter Moss; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her father, Adolph Veitenheimer on May 25, 2002; sister-in-law, Janice Luig on Jan. 26, 2012; mother-in-law, Catherine Luig on Sept. 7, 2012; and father-in-law, Edward Luig on Sept. 8, 2012.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Hancock, Bryan Hemmi, Chad Luig, Ryan Luig, Tyler Schroeder, and Keith Teichman.
