Frances Hilbers Veitenheimer, 93, of Windthorst, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at Grace Care Center in Olney, Texas after a long battle of multiple health issues.
The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst with Rev. Michael Moloney, OFS, celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Frances was born December 5, 1922 in Slaton, Texas and came to Scotland, Texas as a baby in a covered wagon with her parents, Frank J. and Ottila (Anderle) Hilbers and two sisters. She graduated from Windthorst High School. Frances was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst, the Catholic Daughters of America, The Mothers Society, and a 4-H Adult Leader for over 50 years, as well as caring for many children in her home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank J. and Ottila Hilbers; her husband, Urban J. Veitenheimer in 1964; her sister, Gertie Poirot; and her son-in-law, Bobby Price in 2006.
She is survived by her five children and her grandchildren, Urban F. Veitenheimer and wife Mary and their children, Laurie Veitenheimer Perkins, Valorie Veitenheimer Aaron, and Jarred Veitenheimer and wife Judy; John A. Veitenheimer and wife Maxine and their children, Bradley Veitenheimer and Kim Craig, Stephanie Veitenheimer, and Tracie Veitenheimer Pace and husband Kevin; Mary Ann Veitenheimer Riggins and husband Jerry and their children, Johnny Riggins and wife Mitzi, Don Riggins and wife Kathy, and Lee Ann Riggins Burnett and husband Tommy; Robert G. Veitenheimer and wife Gretta and their children, Chad Veitenheimer and wife Heather, Cody Veitenheimer and wife Anya, Amanda Veitenheimer and Justin Painer, and Heather Veitenheimer Peysen and husband Chad; and Dorothy Veitenheimer Price and her late husband Bobby and their children, Shawn Price and Chelsey, and Kristi Price Curts and husband Randall; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sister, Agnes Schreiber and Lena Ostermann; her brother, Floyde Hilbers and wife Mildred all of Windthorst; her sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Veitenheimer, Marie Veitenheimer, Delorse York, and Florence Peters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary service followed by a family visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst.
